There are many theme parks, what makes this one special? There are several components that will make Legacy Park Palmdale unique. However, the primary objective of this theme park will be for Legacy Park to serve as a bridge to mend social, racial, and cultural gaps that exist in our society today. The park will serve as a vehicle to educate the world about untold African Americans as well as other cultural contributions. It will offer an accurate account of the African American’s historical journey and their roles in helping shape major portions of American culture.
The park will chronicle over 400 years of history through presentations using state-of-the-art cybernetics, high-tech venues, and interactive media that will be meticulously designed to educate and entertain, best described as “Edutainment.” Visitors at Legacy Park Palmdale will relive history expressed through music, art, and dance.
The Legacy Music Archives is where you’ll see real-life impersonations of musical greats such as Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and John Coltrane. Comedy-land is where you’ll get to experience the talents of Redd Fox, Richard Pryor, and Mom’s Mabley all on the same stage. Encounter the spectacular Martin Luther King ride which takes you to a world exactly as Dr. King imagined it should be. Enjoy a simulation of the Underground Railroad, learn exactly how it worked, and about so many of the courageous individuals who helped navigate this dangerous pathway to freedom. Sportstown will offer hands-on experiences where modern technology gives you a first-hand view of what a Satchel Page fastball looked like in the Old Negroe Leagues. Find yourself toe to toe in the boxing ring with Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, or other all-time greats. Indulge yourself on Soul Food Avenue with a variety of culinary delicacies, including upscale dining options.
